Japanese Green Tea from Two Renowned Tea Regions
Ceremonial Grade Matcha from Uji, Kyoto
Our matcha comes from Uji—one of Japan’s most historic and renowned tea regions, where the culture of tea cultivation and processing has developed over many centuries. It combines a creamy body with mild umami, gentle green depth and a light, clean finish. Its balanced character is equally enjoyable prepared traditionally with water or with milk.
Fukamushi Sencha from Chiran, Kagoshima
Our organic sencha comes from a single tea estate in Chiran, one of Japan’s leading green tea-growing regions. It is made from the Saemidori cultivar and certified organic according to the Japanese JAS standard. Extended steaming gives the leaves their fine structure and produces a rich, intensely green infusion. The flavour is rounded, smooth and full-bodied, with a subtle, refreshing astringency.

Chinese Oolong from Two Renowned Tea Regions
Tie Guan Yin from Anxi, Fujian
Our Tie Guan Yin comes from Anxi in China’s Fujian Province—a traditional tea region regarded as the birthplace of the Tie Guan Yin tea plant and one of the cradles of oolong production. Knowledge of tea cultivation and processing, passed down through generations, continues to shape the region’s identity today. The special significance of this tea culture was recognised by the FAO in 2022, when the Anxi Tieguanyin Tea Culture System was designated a “Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System” (GIAHS).
The predominantly whole, tightly rolled leaves produce a clear infusion with a pronounced floral fragrance, natural sweetness and a pleasantly complex mouthfeel. The taste is soft, rounded and smooth, with a clean, lingering finish. Over several short infusions, the leaves fully unfurl and reveal new, delicate aromatic nuances with each cup.
Da Hong Pao from Wuyishan, Fujian
Our Da Hong Pao comes from Wuyishan—the traditional home of China’s renowned rock teas. The mineral-rich mountain landscape of the Wuyi region and the characteristic roasting process give this oolong its distinctive aromatic depth.
Our tea is made from the Qi Dan cultivar, which is closely connected to the history and tradition of Da Hong Pao. This distinguishes it from blends of different Wuyi cultivars that are frequently sold under the name Da Hong Pao.
Its large, dark leaves produce a luminous orange infusion with complex woody and roasted aromas, delicate orchid notes and a subtle caramelised sweetness in the long finish. Across several short infusions, its multifaceted character continues to develop from cup to cup.

Exclusive Herbal Compositions from Several European Regions
Quiet Bloom – intentionally simple
Quiet Bloom brings together linden blossom, chamomile and mint in a clear, balanced composition. Linden blossom shapes its soft, delicately floral character, chamomile adds gentle warmth, and mint provides clean freshness. The result is a harmonious infusion with a subtle fragrance, rounded flavour and delicate natural sweetness.
Botanical Sunset – complex and vibrant
Botanical Sunset combines rosehip, chamomile, mint, lemon balm, verbena, lemongrass, calendula and orange peel. Verbena, lemongrass and orange peel define the blend’s delicate citrus character. Lemon balm and chamomile create a soft foundation, complemented by fresh mint and restrained fruitiness.
Both recipes were developed by STEEP STATE TEA using carefully selected ingredients from several European regions. In these compositions and under these names, Quiet Bloom and Botanical Sunset are available exclusively from STEEP STATE TEA.

What makes Quiet Bloom and Botanical Sunset exclusive?
Both herbal compositions were developed by STEEP STATE TEA. In this particular composition and under these names, they are available exclusively from us.
Where do the teas and ingredients come from?
We source our Japanese green teas from Japan and our oolongs from China. For Quiet Bloom and Botanical Sunset, we use carefully selected botanical ingredients from Europe.
Can I try the teas in small quantities first?
Yes. With our personal tea selection, you can combine several teas in 10 g increments. The minimum total quantity is 30 g.
Which tea suits my moment?
At STEEP STATE TEA, the collection is divided into three lines: FOCUS, BALANCE and CALM.
The caffeinated green teas in the FOCUS line are intended for our morning rituals. Their lively character makes them a fitting companion for a mindful start to the day.
The oolongs in the BALANCE line also contain caffeine. However, due to their balanced character, we associate them with daytime rituals and mindful pauses.
The herbal compositions in the CALM line are naturally caffeine-free. This makes them particularly suitable for evening rituals and a peaceful end to the day.
This classification reflects our general guidance. Which tea best suits a particular moment ultimately depends on personal preferences and individual sensitivity to caffeine. The final choice is yours.
